The Endocannabinoid System

Did you know that your body has an Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

The ECS was only discovered in the 1990's when an Israeli researcher, Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, discovered that two main receptors  connect. He realized that our bodies naturally produce cannabinoids.

What is ECS?

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a group of receptors that make up a very complex regulatory system throughout the human brain, body, central and peripheral nervous systems. The ECS creates and maintains our body’s internal stability (homeostasis) by adjusting the flow of neurotransmitters and regulating bodily functions, including appetite, sleep, emotion and movement.

What is the role of ECS?

The Endocannabinoid System is a physiological system that controls and cares for your health. Endocannabinoids and its receptors can be found throughout the body, in the brain, organs, glands, and connective tissues. This system is actually responsible for helping maintain most all of our bodily functions. It plays a crucial role from our nervous system to our immune system. As endocannabinoids are often found at intersections of our bodies’ various systems it ultimately acts as a bridge between the body and the mind.

CBD & your ECS

Our bodies naturally produce cannabinoids but some of us produce too much or too little. Taking CBD daily can help maintain our ECS and produce just the right amount of cannabinoids to keep us going through our day
